They’ve been one of our favourite UK bands for several years and always warm the heart and raise the spirits. The Mountain Firework Company made their first big impact in 2008 with a stunning debut album. It was a show-stopping set at Glastonbury that fully established the five-piece and by the time the follow-up, The Lonesome Losing Blues, arrived, they were winning widespread praise on both sides of the Atlantic.

Real crowd pleasers, the Brighton-based band has appearances at Celtic Connections and Shetland Folk festivals. “Irish folk may have informed Americana but few explore the link as well as The Mountain Firework Company,” said Q magazine; “Rich, bristling bluegrass melodies and instrumentation with a bruised modern heart,” wrote Time Out.
